Manning Point is a fisherman's paradise.
Those "in the know", are often up at dawn and have breakfast "in the bag" before others have emerged for the day. The river provides an abundance of bream, flathead and luderick. We have our own jetty at our river frontage and storage facilities for boats are available. Surf casting from the beach can result in good catches of whiting, tailor and jewfish. For those of you who are not fishermen, our meandering river lends itself to discovery by boat. Harrington is approx 10 mins by boat across the Manning River.
Dolphins frequent the river during the summer months and a boat trip as the tide comes in may well reward you with a dolpin encounter.
Swimming, surfing, body boarding, waterskiing, jet skiing and canoeing are all enjoyed at Manning Point.

Four Wheel Drive Beach Access
Weeroona Caravan Park on the Holiday Coast has it's own 4 wheel drive beach access. Beach access Permits are readily obtainable from the Manning Point General Store on either a weekly or annual basis at reasonable cost.
Four wheel driving the beach gives access, not only, to the Point itself, to the north but also to Farquhar Inlet, 14 kms to the south.
On this southern drive you will discover tidal lagoons wonderful for either fishing or swimming. The only other access to these is a very long walk. |
